Sexual Violence Prevention and Education

The Office of Sexual Violence Prevention and Education (SVPE) will advance the university's framework for sustainable climate and cultural transformation that establishes sexual violence prevention as a shared responsibility of the entire Virginia Tech community.

The department works with students, faculty, and staff to educate the university community on sexual and interpersonal violence prevention and awareness.

The primary goals are to educate Hokies on how to recognize and prevent sexual and interpersonal violence, plus build up the skills and confidence campus members need to bring more awareness to others in the community.

Throughout the year, SVPE leads trainings and workshops; collaborates on awareness events; and works with other students and organizations to customize prevention education around consent, healthy/unhealthy relationships, active intervention, prevention strategies, and more that fit the needs of their communities!
