Complaint Handling Guidelines
Guidelines are available to ensure complaints are handled properly.
Situations involving sexual assault or sexual harassment of students
Faculty, student affairs personnel, athletics personnel, and other responsible employees have a particular responsibility for addressing sexual harassment and sexual assault of students. Any faculty member or responsible employee who becomes aware of the possible sexual harassment or sexual assault of a student must promptly contact the Virginia Tech Title IX coordinator, or the Office for Equity and Accessibility.
Possible crimes should immediately be reported to the Virginia Tech Police Department. Men or women who may have experienced sexual assault should be provided with information about support and advocacy services through resources such as the Women's Center at Virginia Tech and are strongly encouraged to access the these services as soon as possible.
